“I’m physically sick right now for him. What I’m hoping for is it’s not the extreme.” – John Calipari on Nerlens Noel’s knee injury

Kentucky Wildcats star center Nerlens Noel injured his left knee with just over eight minutes remaining against the Florida Gators in Gainesville, FL on Tuesday night. He was unable to walk off the court under his own power. As a testament to what Noel means to his Wildcats team, his four fellow starters all helped walk him into the visiting locker room.
Noel had been named the SEC Freshman of the Week in each of the previous four weeks as Kentucky had finally started to make headway following a relatively poor start to the 2012-13 season.
After losing at Alabama on Jan. 22, Kentucky had won five games in a row. That includes a big-time road win at then-No. 16 Ole Miss and another road victory over Texas A&M in overtime.
However, the team struggled against the top team in the SEC in the Gators, and now will be without their star player for the foreseeable future.
