So, when the New Orleans Hornets announced the franchise was planning on changing its name to the Pelicans, most fans laughed.
A pelican? Really?
However, 99designs actually took the idea and ran with it, holding a contest to see who could put together the coolest potential logo for what will be the re-worked NBA franchise. Thus far, a whopping 1,059 entries have been submitted by 197 designers, according to the site.
If these are any indications, the Big Easy may actually have one of the coolest logos when the switch from the ‘Hornets’ to the ‘Pelicans’ is made.
The question after that will be, of course, how the League can manage to incorporate the Unibrow into the logo.
