Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide blew away Notre Dame, 42-14, to win the program’s third national title in a four-year span — a remarkable accomplishment at any level and in any sport.
Following the game, the Tide players doused their now-legendary head coach with the traditional Gatorade bath, but as they were doing so, the game’s announcers reiterated the fact that Saban actually hates (really, really hates) the required frigid dousing of icy liquid.

However, any literary scholar will be quick to point out that the hero of any good story is never thrilled to do it. Rather, that hero is generally pessimistic, or scared, or in the case of Saban, annoyed.
But it is only after the Reluctant Hero can begin his journey that the many mysteries of his universe begin to unfold before his and our very own eyes.
