Rendering of Texas A&M’s Kyle Field renovations has been released [Photo]
Texas A&M has revealed one rendering of potential renovations to Kyle Field in an effort to gauge its students regarding the funding for the future remodeling of the football stadium, according to Kate Hairopoulos of SportsDayDFW.
This is a conceptual rendering of what the east side of the stadium would look like should the school figure out the best way possible to fund the construction necessary. Right now, the projected price tag stands at a cool $400 million.
While community leaders have approved a hotel tax, the money would only help pay for a portion of the overall expense. Obviously, there is extremely high interest in the project, as well as an extremely high level of angst — everyone wants the job done but no one wants to pay for it.
Following a 2012 season that resulted in the program’s most wins since 1998, a Cotton Bowl win over hated Oklahoma, a top five finish nationally and a Heisman Trophy, the program wants to strike while the iron is hot, so to speak. A massive renovation such as this could serve as the cornerstone for one of the nation’s top football programs for years to come.
