In a dramatically quick series of events, a rumor regarding Florida Gators defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has transformed into reality for Gators fans.
The coach of one of the nation’s most dominant defensive units over the last two seasons is headed to the Seattle Seahawks to work in the same capacity under head coach Pete Carroll, according to the Seattle Times.
Quinn’s hiring by Seattle marks a return by the coach. Quinn takes over for Gus Bradley, who is headed to Jacksonville as the Jags’ new head coach. Quinn was hired by former head coach Jim Mora in 2009 as the team’s defensive line coach and stayed on under Carroll for a year before heading to Gainesville in order to run the entire defense.
Both Bradley and Quinn are enthusiastic, energetic coaches their players love. It brought Bradley a lot of success, as Seattle boasted one of the NFL’s strongest defensive units in 2012. Now, the same will be expected of Quinn.
