2013 recruit Reuben Foster ditches out on Auburn to visit Alabama

According to the experts, Reuben Foster is the very best high school inside linebacker in the country. With 2013 National Signing Day approaching on Feb. 6, his weekend visit to Auburn was seen as the Tigers’ last chance to make a personal impression on the young man before he makes his decision.

However, while Foster did make a trip to The Plains, he cut it embarrassingly short. It was not because his three-year old daughter was in trouble and he had to rush home. It was not because some elder family member requested his presence or he had to go play in some all-star game or something.

No, instead, Foster cut his visit short in order to head across the state and visit Tuscaloosa, where coach Nick Saban and his Tide staff were waiting for him with open arms.

This according to AL.com:

Rumors of Foster’s surprise departure from Auburn appeared to have been confirmed by Alabama wide receiver Christion Jones, who tweeted on Saturday “Chillin with my boy Alvin and Reuben tonight” before deleting the message from his account. Alvin likely refers to four-star athlete and Alabama target Alvin Kamara.

If Foster, one of the top recruits in the entire nation at any position, had not proven that the recruiting coverage surrounding these kids was a joke before, this latest turn in his saga certainly provides the tipping point.

Just remember, if he does go to Alabama, millions of members of Tide Nation will be cheering for a dude with a huge Auburn tattoo on his forearm.

And who said loyalty was dead?
