Robert Nkemdiche, the nation’s top-rated recruit, has officially signed his letter of intent with the Ole Miss Rebels.

Nkemdiche is a 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive end who combines the size, speed, strength and tenacity to make an immediate impact with the Rebels. His older brother, Denzel, starred at Ole Miss as a redshirt freshman in 2012, leading to massive speculation as to whether or not the younger Nkemdiche would be making it a family affair in Oxford.

Finally, after years of desperate speculation on the part of countless national recruiting services, Nkemdiche has made his decision known. Besides Ole Miss, Nkemdiche had also been condsidering LSU and Florida.

Nkemdiche absolutely changes the face of this program for the next three-to-four years. The high school superstar had originally been committed to Clemson before rescinding that commitment several months ago.

At that point, his mother, a governmental employee in Nigeria, made it publicly known that she wanted both of her boys playing at the same school. The plane rides from Africa to the States are by no means short, and adding on extra travel was not something she was looking forward to.

However, her younger son made things interesting. He took very late official visits to Baton Rouge and Gainesville, tweeting out his support especially for his time at LSU.

When it came time to sign, Robert made his mother proud — not to mention the entire city of Oxford and Ole Miss fans everywhere.
