SEC dominates 2012 college football awards, Te’o outshines Manziel’s spotlight
The nation’s top conference has not only dominated on the gridiron during the 2012 season, but off the field as well in postseason individual awards.
On Thursday night, ESPN hosted the 2012 Home Depot College Football Awards show, with the SEC claiming a total of five major awards.
Media darling Johnny “Football” Manziel claimed the nation’s top quarterback honors in winning the Davey O’Brien Award. He beat out fellow Heisman finalist Collin Klein.

Following are the SEC players who were honored on Thursday night:
Davey O’Brien Award: Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M
Jim Thorpe Award: Johnthan Banks, Mississippi State
Outland Trophy: Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M
Rimington Trophy: Barrett Jones, Alabama
William V. Campbell Trophy: Barrett Jones, Alabama
The Heisman Trophy presentation will take place Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.
