The SEC and the NFL have gone hand-in-hand in recent years. The nation’s most dominant teams have come out of the Southeastern Conference, and the best players on those teams have gone on to high selections in the NFL Draft.

As the 2013 edition of the Draft approaches, as many as 15 members of the SEC are projected to be taken in the first round, a number that would be a record if it holds up.

Several SEC underclassmen have only added to the number of potential young men taken from within the nation’s most dominant conference over the past decade.

According to Saturday Down South, these are the juniors who have decided to make the leap to the pros thus far:

  • Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
  • Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina
  • Knile Davis, RB, Arkansas
  • Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
  • Tyler Bray, QB, Tennessee
  • Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
  • Alvin Bailey, OL, Arkansas
  • Corey Lemonier, DE, Auburn
  • Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
  • Alec Ogletree, LB, Georgia
  • Matt Elam, S, Florida
  • Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
  • Kevin Minter, LB, LSU
  • Eric Reid, S, LSU
  • Jarvis Jones, LB, Georgia

This list is definitely going to grow as the bowl season finishes up and more SEC teams’ seasons come to a close.
