Oklahoma Sooners DT Stacy McGee arrested, possible suspension for 2012 Cotton Bowl looms

Stacy McGee, a senior member of the Sooners’ defensive line, may not have the opportunity to chase around Johnny Manziel when OU takes on Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl.

According to Jake Trotter of SoonerNation, McGee was arrested at approximately 1:15 on Monday morning on a complaint of driving under the influence. He was pulled over, and it was then realized that McGee was also driving on a suspended license.

This arrest comes on the heels of a massive suspension McGee had to deal with earlier in the season. The 6-foot-4, 299-pound behemoth missed the first six games of the season for committing a violation of university rules over the summer. After he finally returned to the playing field, McGee earned regular playing time in the defensive tackle rotation along with Jamarkus McFarland and Casey Walker. The disruptive player totaled 14 tackles, 2.5 of them for a loss, and a sack in his six games played.

If he has to sit against Johnny Football and the Aggies, freshman Jordan Phillips, who has only accumulated statistics in four games in his first season.

It remains to be seen what coach Bob Stoops is going to be doing with McGee, as well as Jalen Saunders and Cortez Anderson. The wide receiver and cornerback, respectively, who caught together and both booked on misdemeanor marijuana chargers earlier in December.
