ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Utah Utes DT Star Lotulelei will not work out at the NFL Combine following the detection of a heart condition.
According to Mortensen, Lotulelei’s left ventricle is only working at 44% efficiency and should be in the 50-77% range.
Lotulelei is a projected top five draft pick and was looking to solidify his stock with a strong showing in Indianapolis.
Football and heart conditions rarely work together, so we are hoping that this isn’t anything career-threatening for the future NFL star.
