For the first time in the history of the cultural event that is the Super Bowl, two brothers will meet as opposing head coaches in the most watched game in the history of television.
On Sunday’s early game, Jim Harbaugh led the San Francisco 49ers to an epic, come-from-behind win over the Atlanta Falcons, 28-24. The franchise’s most prolific runner, Frank Gore, scored two touchdowns en route to earning the franchise’s first Super Bowl berth in 18 seasons.
Later that night, John Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens did not need nearly as much theatrics to take care of business in Foxboro against the New England Patriots. Legendary linebacker Ray Lewis is set to retire at the end of the season. However, after he and the rest of his defense stopped quarterback Tom Brady several times in the red zone, their ticket was punched for the first time since 2000.
Thus, the Super Bowl earns a new name with this historical familial twist: The Harbowl.
Someone pass their parents the antacid.
