You know those times when a guy sends too many text messages to a girl before she responds, and then, she never does? That’s exactly what Tennessee’s recruiting tactics feel like right about now.

We like to stick with the motto “Do less,” but apparently it’s not Butch Jones’ style.
Jones and his staff sent 102 letters to Tennessee recruit Stanton Truitt. Just to make sure you heard us, Truitt received 102 letters in one day from the Vols.
We aren’t counting, or anything, but we are pretty sure 101 is right when a recruit usually gets turned off.
Jones should issue an apology to all of the tree huggers out there for straight up disregarding the environment.
Truitt told ESPN the following regarding the letters
“When I went to open it (his mailbox), it would not budge. I pulled it down, and then some of the letters were hanging out, but they were all tied together by a rubber band.
“I was thinking there was no way these came from the same school. But I kept pulling on them and I thought the mailbox was going to break, but when I got them out I found out that all 102 of them were from Tennessee! It was crazy.”
Truitt said that the letters were inspirational, and each letter would say something different like “Stanton, we love you,” or “Vol Nation.”
Rocky Top has officially taken the recruiting game to an unwarranted level.
