1 – Ryan Nassib / Syracuse
Ryan Nassib has been an intriguing character. Very reserved and standoffish at the Senior Bowl but a good talent. He can make the throws necessary, and with good touch and accuracy. At times can look like a first round pick but also at times just looks average. Nassib has the most to gain at here because if he impresses at the Combine, Nassib can ride a big wave going into his Pro Day. The former ‘Cuse standout needs to prove he can throw the 10-15 yard in, outs and comebacks with touch and timing.

2 — Mike Glennon / NC State
NC State signal caller Mike Glennon came into the draft process with the most to gain. While not the most mobile, the 6-foot-6 passer has an elite arm in terms of strength, which has intrigued teams. A lackluster Senior Bowl really hurt him but The Combine is where he will make his living. Throwing against air where he can take his time and just make the throws and impress scouts with his pure ability is important for him. A solid performance in shorts and a T-shirt will obviously not be the end all be all, but it will definitely help him back into the good graces of general managers and scouts.

3 – E.J. Manuel / Florida State
Probably the most interesting and intriguing player at this position. Manuel was inconsistent at various times throughout his college career, but this kid has proven that he has it all. He possesses ideal height and bulk, more than adequate arm, and great mobility but it will all come down to his mental aptitude. Manuel will blow teams away with his interviews and even during throwing drills but ultimately it will come down to what coaches and scouts see on film with his decision making.

4 – Tyler Bray / Tennessee
Bray may have the most to gain and most to lose according many people making the big decisions. Bray has had off the field issues and also internally at Tennessee. Bray has a strong arm but needs to bulk up. A prototypical pocket passer, Bray will shine throwing but will need to impress in the interview room.

5 – Geno Smith / West Virginia
They say last impressions are everything. Well, Geno Smith’s last impressions were not great. A hot start to the 2012-2013 season before a free fall towards the end capped off by a disastrous appearance in the New Era Pin Stripe game against Syracuse where he looked distraught on the sidelines after things didn’t go his way. Smith didn’t attend the Senior Bowl and has finally resurfaced here at the NFL Combine. He has decided to do all the drills and workouts as well as throw. Smith will do fine in the interviews and board work but ultimately he will need to throw well as well as test well. A top five draft selection may be riding on those passes, but he can absolutely make all the throws. Smith is the unknown because we haven’t seen him since the bowl game.
