SEC Ballers of the Week, Week 4
A look at who balled and shot called...

Week 4 was full of close games, upsets, and absolute blowouts. As conference play has heated up, these players have stepped up and helped lead their teams to victory, or gave it their all out effort in defeat.
This list of consists of All-Americans, freshman studs, and a few relatively unheard of players.
Here's a look at the players who "balled out" during Week 4...
Conner Shaw, QB- South Carolina Gamecocks

After having a monster game against new conference rival Missouri, Conner Shaw was named SEC co-offensive player of the week.
Shaw absolutely destroyed Mizzou's secondary, completing 20-of-21 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns, leading South Carolina to a 31-10 victory.
The one incomplete pass was Shaw's first throw of the day, meaning the consecutive completion streak is still alive. He is four away from tying Tennessee's Tee Martin, who holds the SEC record at 24 straight.
Jeff Driskel, QB- Florida Gators

Jeff Driskel continues to impress the Gator Nation more and more every week. Last Saturday, the sophomore made the Wildcats defense look silly.
The young quarterback delivered the ball to ten different receivers, completing 18 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown. Florida embarrassed Kentucky in the Swamp and has not lost to the Wildcats in 26 straight years.
Todd Gurley, RB- Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia's freshman running back Todd Gurley is a beast; he racked up a career high 130 yards on 16 carries. The freshman averaged 8.1 yards per carry and found the end zone twice.
Gurley, who helped the Dawgs roll over the Commodores 48-3, was named the SEC freshman of the week.
Sounds sort of like another freshman who once donned the red and black.
Will Ebner, LB- Missouri Tigers

Missouri linebacker Will Ebner did his best to help his team keep pace with the overpowering South Carolina offense.
Ebner had a game high 14 tackles, with one for a loss. Despite his efforts, Mizzou was defeated by the Gamecocks, 31-10.
Jordan Matthews, WR- Vanderbilt Commodores

Jordan Matthews had an outstanding game against Georgia. Unfortunately, the rest of the Vandy squad decided not to show up.
Matthews caught eight balls for 119 yards. He averaged 14.9 yards per catch. Nonetheless, Vanderbilt was taken to the woodshed by Georgia 48-3.
Tyler Bray, QB- Tennessee Volunteers

Tyler Bray helped rally the sluggish Volunteers last Saturday, leading them to a decisive victory over the Akron Zips.
The junior quarterback passed for 401 yards with 27 completions and four touchdowns.
That's the NFL-caliber Bray we heard about all pre and early season.
Martavius Neloms, DB- Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky struggled on both sides of the ball against Florida on Saturday. It has been 26 straight years of defeat at the hands of the Gators, and from the looks of it, there could be 26 more years of losing for the Wildcats.
In the second quarter, Martavious Neloms picked off Jeff Driskel, resulting in the first interception thrown by Floria's starting quarterback this season. Despite Neloms' valiant effort, Kentucky was defeated by Florida, 38-0.
Sam Montgomery, DE- LSU Tigers

It was a defensive struggle on the plains last saturday. Sam Montgomery was named SEC defensive player of the week, after wreaking havoc on the Auburn offense.
The All-American ended the day with four tackles (3.5 for loss), forced a safety that ultimately was the difference in the game, and anchored a defense that held Auburn to only 183 yards of offense. LSU defeated Auburn, 12-10.
Corey Lemonier,DE- Auburn Tigers

Corey Lemonier dominated the LSU Tigers offensive line all night on Saturday, finishing with two sacks and three solo tackles.
It took everything the Bayou Bengals had to stop him. Auburn was defeated by LSU, 12-10.
Johnthan Banks, DB- Mississippi State Bulldogs

Mississippi State's Johnthan Banks had a terrific day on defense against South Alabama.
The senior defensive back recorded three tackles, two pass deflections, and one interception, which he returned for 47 yards.
Cobi Hamilton, WR- Arkansas Razorbacks

Cobi Hamilton had a record setting day that earned him the honor of SEC co-offensive player of the week.
Hamilton set a new SEC single-game record with 303 yards receiving; the previous record was set by LSU's Josh Reed with 293 yards. Of the 10 catches Hamilton made in the losing effort against Rutgers, three were for touchdowns.
Play on player.
A.J. McCarron, QB- Alabama Crimson Tide

A.J. McCarron led the Crimson Tide to another impressive victory, beating the FAU Owls 40-7.
The quarterback crushed the Owls defense, going 15-for-25 with 212 yards and three touchdowns. McCarron and Alabama have rolled over opposing teams all season, outscoring them 168-21.
Aaron Morris, OL- Ole Miss Rebels

Time to give a shout out to the always underrated big men up front. Ole Miss guard Aaron Morris was named SEC offensive lineman of the week.
Morris helped pave the way for the Rebels' 450 total yards of offense, 304 of them on the ground. As a result, Ole Miss defeated Tulane 39-0.
Dustin Harris, DB- Texas A&M Aggies

Texas A&M return man Dustin Harris shattered a 64-year old single-game SEC record for punt return yards, earning him the honor of SEC co-special teams player of the week.
Harris returned eight punts for 246 yards. The highlight of this senior's game was a 96-yard return for a score. Texas A&M defeated South Carolina State, 70-14.
