Whomever’s brackets were left at least relatively intact towards the end of Day 2 of March Madness finally tossed them into the garbage can after second-seeded Georgetown fell to 15th-seeded Florida Gulf Coast on Friday night, 78-68.
Despite the fact that Georgetown boasted First Team All-American Otto Porter, FGCU played as one both offensively and defensively, and for an entire 40 minutes.
Once it was all over, fans of the Eagles and just general sports fans voiced their shock over the monumental win for a team that was playing in its very first NCAA Tournament.

Part of FGCU’s section? Decked out in Hawaiian shirts and tank tops. I guess life’s a beach. Even in Philly.

— Jacob Perry (@jacobperry) March 23, 2013
FGCU’s table at the next college fair is just going to be a poster of that dunk and a 60-inch TV playing a DVD of Spring Breakers.

I said it on Sunday. Georgetown should have been really ticked about this matchup. FGCU shouldn’t have been a 15. Still…come on.
— Dan Wolken (@DanWolken) March 23, 2013
Who picked #FGCU? THIS GUY! I’m definitely getting a Florida Gulf Coast t-shirt. Easily my best pick ever! Also had FGCU +13.5 M&M’s.
