Current and former Longhorns reacted on Twitter to the controversial ending in the Monday Night Football game between the Packers and Seahawks. The game ended on a bizarre play in which Golden Tate shoved a defender out the way and was awarded a disputed touchdown as he wrestled the ball away from M.D. Jennings. The 24-yard touchdown gave the Seahawks a 14-12 victory over the Packers and sparked a fire of scrutiny towards the NFL’s replacement refs via the Twitterverse.

Former Texas tight end joined fellow Packers teammates and shared his displeasure through his Twitter account.

Jermichael Finley (@JermichaelF88) tweeted: “Come on @NFL this s*** is getting out of Control. Caused us a DAMN game. Horrible!”

Case McCoy and former Longhorn cornerback Aaron Williams chose some kinder words to express their disapproval of the replacement officials.

Case McCoy (@CaseMcCoy6) tweeted: “I can’t even believe these officials… Smh”

Aaron Williams (@ajwilliams23) tweeted: “WOW!!!!! If they really call this a touchdown I’m done haha there’s no way UNBELIEVABLE! #NoWords”

Cornerback Quandre Diggs focused more on the players involved in the final play than on the officiating. As a fellow cornerback, Diggs believes M.D. Jennings should have just batted the ball down.

Quandre Diggs (@qdiggs6) tweeted: “Bat the ball down instead of trying to pad your stats homie.”

Here’s a bonus tweet from Kevin Durant during Sunday’s NFL action.

Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) tweeted: “These Pop Warner refs messing the game up”

The Twitter world’s reaction suggests that NFL fans and players have reached their breaking point with the replacement officials.
