HUGE transfer for the Gators

Tyler Moore, come on down! Head coach Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators received big news on Thursday that former Nebraska offensive lineman Tyler Moore will be transferring to the University of Florida.

Moore saw significant playing time last year as a true freshman, starting four games at right tackle and playing in nine games overall. He is just the 10th lineman in Nebraska history to start as a true freshman. That fact right there is evidence of the depth that he is going to add to the already impressive line the Gators coaching staff has been building.

The 6-foot-6, 305 pound sophomore chose the Gators over in-state rival FSU, another win for the Orange ‘n Blue.

Tyler’s father, Brian, had the following to say on his son’s choice (ESPN.com):

“Tyler visited both Florida and Florida State, and he said the feeling was just different at Florida,” Brian Moore said. “He really likes Coach Muschamp and the Florida staff and just felt really comfortable when he was there.”

Moore, who is originally from Clearwater, FL, elected to sit out this season for personal reasons. He will redshirt this year and will be eligible to suit up in 2013 for the Gators. He will join former Maryland lineman Max Garcia, who also elected to transfer to Florida this offseason.

Gator Nation, this is exactly what we need to compete with the likes of Alabama. Muschamp and the staff are building the program the right way.
