Urban Meyer really thinks Tim Tebow is going to win a Super Bowl, seriously
Urban Meyer’s history as Tim Tebow’s coach and ardent supporter is well documented. Tebow spent four years under the former Florida Gators coach in Gainesville, FL, winning not one, but two national championships. Not to mention a Heisman Trophy sandwiched in between.
Shortly after The Chosen One departed the friendly confines of The Swamp, so too did Meyer, in unforgettable fashion.
Tebow took off to the NFL where he led the Broncos to a playoff victory, but was kicked to the Jets (which is worse than being kicked to the curb) in favor of Peyton Manning.
Meyer bolted for ESPN and then Ohio State like his illness was never even an issue (because it wasn’t).
Despite all of the recent struggles Tebow has endured in New York, Meyer still thinks he can win and win big. He had the following to say about Tebow to WOCA 1370 AM and 96.3 FM on Wednesday morning (via Only Gators Get Out Alive):
“All they need is to let him get his foot in the door and he’s going to win games, and I think he’s going to win a Super Bowl. I still believe that, probably because I spent as much or more time with him as any other coach. I have that much confidence in him.”
Has Tebow proven that he can win? Yes. Is Meyer’s statement about him winning a Super Bowl a little crazy? Yes. But then again, Meyer has always been crazy.
With the latest statement, however, it might be time to send a doctor out to check his head before he has another breakdown.
