Wake Forest has not simply been bad during the three-year tenure of basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik, but downright inept. The Demon Deacons have not been competitive at all on the road and have barely been more serviceable at home — and yes, this sounds like the rantings and ravings of a distressed fan, but apparently we are not alone.
According to USA Today, a frustrated Wake fan paid $260 to have this ad printed in the Old Gold and Black, the student-run newspaper on campus. Forget the stats and the hashtags and everything else on this ad for a moment.
Instead, realize that there is a fan out there willing to shell out $260 bucks just to have the chance to have his voice heard on this matter. We’re just going to assume he is not paying the $20 or whatever it takes to buy a ticket to actually watch a game at the Joel.
Hopefully, these dollar signs help the athletic department figure it out, because apparently the numbers have not helped them #BuzzOut Bzdelik.
