Texas A&M freshman wide receiver Thomas Johnson leaves Aggies
The saga of Aggies freshman wide receiver Thomas Johnson continues. According to head coach Kevin Sumlin, Johnson has withdrawn from Texas A&M and his future is uncertain.
If you recall, Johnson was the player who disappeared for more than two days in November. As of now, he has retured to his family in Dallas to weigh his future options.
Sumlin had the following to say on the situation:
“That’s an ongoing process right now. I think he’s trying to decide where he is, if he’s coming back, if he comes back next semester, if he’s going to take the year off or if he’s going to transfer. In my conversations with him that’s where he is. He’s just trying to figure out what his next step is going to be.”
“We’re going to support him in any of those three [options]. That’s his decision and he’s with his family and is trying to figure it out.”
Johnson received considerable playing time as a freshman, appearing in 10 games for the Aggies, catching 30 passes for 339 yards and a touchdown.
