Legendary Ohio State head coach Woody Hayes may have passed away in 1987, but his spirit has lived on throughout the Buckeye Nation every day since.
Even most recently when Urban Meyer told the tale of one of the craziest locker room speeches of all time, when Hayes used a turtle and part of his body to toughen-up his team.
That story is absolutely crazy, and if you haven’t read it yet, you are missing out.
On Wednesday, the university erected an 800-pound, 8-foot tall bronze statue of the legendary coach outside of the Ohio State University athletic center.
According to The Columbus Dispatch, the statue was created in honor of Hayes’ 100th anniversary of his birth, which will take place this Thursday, Feb. 13.
