Florida Commit Adonis Thomas Serves Georgia Fans On Twitter

This past Friday the Florida Gators plucked a highly-touted recruit out of Georgia’s backyard in 2015 linebacker Adonis Thomas. The Lawrenceville, GA native wasn’t short on offers from FBS programs. Thomas, who is ranked as the No. 10 outside linebacker and No. 168 overall recruit according to 247 Sports, chose the Gators over the home-state Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and a slew of other programs.

The pill for the Dawgs has apparently been hard to swallow. Just a few days after committing, Thomas took to Twitter to put Georgia fans in their place. He sent the following tweet on Monday with the caption, “For the UGA fans that said they backed off and that I wasn’t good enough for them because my offer wasn’t committable.”

Defensive recruit choosing Will Muschamp and the Gators over the Dawgs? There’s never been a more appropriate time to drop this: BOOM. Served.

Hopefully Thomas sticks with his commitment, because this is a chapter waiting to be finished for the Florida-Georgia rivalry book.

Anybody who follows recruiting knows an offer may have been extended at one point, but that doesn’t mean the team stays in hot pursuit until signing day. As a matter of fact, an offer at one point does not mean the recruit can commit any time he feels like it. So, Adonis, your letter proves nothing. With that said, I am not butthurt nor do I intend to knock Adonis as I would have been very happy to have him commit to the G. I wish him luck at UF, with the exception of one game per year.
