Alabama Linebacker Dillon Lee was arrested on Thursday and charged with driving under this influence (DUI). According to the Anniston Star, Lee was booked and released on $1,000 bail.
Prior to the arrest, Lee was high on coach Nick Saban’s watch list. He was competing for a starting position at outside linebacker, and described by Saban as a “really good player for us.”
In response to Lee’s DUI, Saban had little to say.
“I don’t have all of the details at this point and will handle it appropriately once I’ve had a chance to review all of the information.”
Lee played in every game during the 2013-14 season, recording 16 tackles, a fumble recovery and one touchdown. This is not his first time running afoul of team rules during his tenure in Tuscaloosa. In 2013, as a freshman, Lee was sent home from the national championship game for violation of team policy.
