David Robinson was on the “Dan Patrick Show” Wednesday morning and decided to drop a little fodder for debate, saying he would rather build a team around Tim Duncan than Michael Jordan.
While it may sound like foolish homer talk, Robinson offers a logical explanation for his thoughts. He feels that its much more difficult to find quality big men than it is guards. And since bigs anchor the team, it’s most beneficial to start a squad in the frontcourt.
Considering Jordan’s tendency to grate on teammates, as compared to Duncan’s full embrace of the star role player, Robinson’s opinion doesn’t seem as crazy once hearing him out.
