On Monday, Uruguay’s Luis Suarez issued a Twitter apology to Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini for biting him during the World Cup. Shortly after Suarez sent out his tweet, Chiellini responded by letting the maligned Uruguayan know that he accepted the apology. Chiellini even went as far as to say that he hopes FIFA reduces Suarez’s hefty suspension.
.@luis16suarez It’s all forgotten. I hope FIFA will reduce your suspension.

For his actions, FIFA suspended Suarez for nine international matches and all football-related activities for four months. It was the third time in his career that he’s been disciplined for biting during a match.
