Metta World Peace is taking aim at the New York Post for calling him a “deadbeat dad.” A cliff notes version of the story is that the mother of one of World Peace’s children is angry over the former NBA star’s refusal to pay school tuition.
Jeron Artest, 13, won a coveted spot at the prestigious Poly Prep Country Day School for the 2014-15 school year, but World Peace reneged on a promise to pay the $38,355 tuition, according to mom Jennifer Palma’s suit in Manhattan Family Court.
Taking exception to the claims, World Peace defended himself on Twitter.
There’s undoubtedly a lot more behind this story than what’s presented here or in the Post. But honestly, in what world is refusal to pay a $38K tuition considered being a dead beat?
Note: The tweets have since been deleted from World Peace’s timeline.
