Fernando Rodney likes to celebrate his saves by reaching back and grabbing an imaginary arrow, lining it up on his bow and shooting it into the sky. He’s gotten to do his celebration 27 times this season.
On Sunday, however, it was Albert Pujols and Mike Trout doing his celebration. Rodney walked Trout and then gave up a double to Pujols, which drove Trout in and tied the game.
After Trout scored, he and Pujols pulled out their arrows and fired away.
The move I’m sure infuriated Rodney.
The bad blood brewing between the Angels and Mariners is going to make for a very interesting September/October.
