After a long match this morning, Novak Djokovic outlasted Roger Federer to capture the 2014 Wimbledon Championship.
Results: 7-6, 4-6, 6-7, 7-5, 4-6
Djokovic had a chance to win it in the fourth set, but blew the opportunity. It was then that it looked like Federer had his chance to take the momentum from the Serb. True to his form, Djokovic didn’t lose focus and came back like the champion he has proved to be time and time again.
The entire match was played at a high level with only one serve being broken in the first three sets. However, during the fourth set there were five broken serves. Both played hard and it was apparent by the end that each had given all they had left in their tank. Djokovic and Federer played to 5-4 during the final set with neither losing serve until Djokovic broke Federer and was crowned the 2014 Wimbledon Champion.
It is only the second time Federer has lost a Wimbledon Final.
