Michigan State center Derrick Nix pled guilty earlier today to impaired driving. Nix was arrested the morning of April 3rd, at 12:20 AM, in East Lansing.
Cops arrested Nix after a routine traffic stop, for operating his vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
By pleading guilty Nix’s charges were reduced. Nix was only charged with a reduced misdemeanor for impaired driving. He will face sentencing May 11th.
Izzo has chosen to allow Nix to stay part of the Spartans’ basketball team, under the conditions that Nix cooperates and meets any guidelines set by Izzo.
Nix has acknowledged the set back, and seems to be ready to head in the right direction stating “I gotta become a man. -Detroit Free Press”
