Another tournament, another painful withdraw for Tiger Woods. He hit a pretty tee shot from No. 9 at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday, but immediately grabbed for his back after the swing.
Woods, who appeared to be in considerable agony, withdrew from the tournament after the shot. He told a PGA Tour official that it was initially tweaked on the second hole.
“It happened on the second hole when I hit my second shot, I fell back into the bunker. I just jarred it, and it’s been spasming ever since,” Woods stated. “It’s just the whole lower back. I don’t know what happened.”
Here’s video of the final swing that caused him to hang it up for the weekend.
