According to Joe Matzek of The Post-Cresent, the Little Chute (WI) football team got a very special boost in its final home game from a longtime water boy.
Noah VanVooren, an 18-year-old senior with Down Syndrome, strapped on a helmet for the first time, took a late handoff and rumbled all the way in for the score against Clintonville High. The score was the last in a 62-0 win – and it was easily the most emotional.
You can hear it in the cheers from the crowd as he carries the football. In his own voice and he excitedly speaks to reporters. Finally, you can hear it in the voice of one exceedingly proud father near the end of the clip.
