New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert, despite his solid play on the court through his first two seasons in the NBA, became known for his impeccable flattop.
Entering this season, however, Shumpert decided to switch his hair game up. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound guard made waves when the first few photos of his shaved head surfaced, and now he explains why he had to part ways with his iconic hairstyle.
His personality had grown larger than the team. He, personally, had moved away from basketball as his primary focus. He needed to reign himself back in – to punish himself for his self-percieved transgressions against his team.
He needed to focus on the one thing all NBA players grind for: A ring.
