Say what you want about Yasiel Puig, but you have to admit he is a physical specimen on the baseball diamond.
Never was that more apparent than on Friday when the Los Angeles Dodgers took on Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants. Someone forgot to tell Puig that Lincecum was a two time N.L. Cy Young Champion, because he absolutely dismantled the pitcher to the tune of THREE triples and a double.
And four bat flips.
Since 1900, only 48 other players in the game have hit three triples in one game. You would have to go back to the 1800’s to find anyone that hit more than three in one game. In 1885, George Strief hit four in one game for the Athletics and Bill Joyce did the same in 1897 for the Giants. I think it’s safe to say the game has changed a bit since then.
