American Astronauts Shave Heads For Germany World Cup Bet

The World Cup has reached outer space. For the USA-Germany match in group play, American astronauts Steve Swanson and Reid Wiseman made a friendly bet with Alexander Gerst of Germany aboard the International Space Station. The 1-0 loss for the USMNT meant a shaved head for the two Americans, which they dutifully went through with.

Following is video of the two wagers being made, as well as Gerst’s victory shave.

From the sound of it, all parties involved enjoyed the World Cup wager.

It was nice to wake up this morning and not worry about my hair. There isn’t any. @astro_alex #worldcupfun
