On Wednesday night, the Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-1, to win Game 6 and the 2013 World Series. It was the franchise’s third Series title in the last decade, but the city of Boston celebrated like they had broken the Curse of the Bambino.
By celebrate, we mean thousands of fans drank a bit too much, got a bit too rowdy, and perhaps flipped over a few too many cars.
What better way to celebrate clinching a World Series title at home for the first time since 1918, than by flipping some cars. It’s like these fans thought they were in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Apparently, the driver was still inside when his or her car got flipped in this extremely *NSFW* clip. Deadspin reports that this was shot just outside of Fenway Park.
You can actually hear the car crunching as it is flipped, then the clip cuts to a group of fans climbing up onto a traffic light pole.
Finally, if you have nine minutes to spare, check out how the celebration at UMass Amherst quickly spiraled out of control. Organizers set up a massive outdoor screen for fans to watch the game and even an inflatable gladiator fighting area for fun.
At first, things were pleasant. However, the situation devolved as riot police began to tear gas anyone in the vicinity.
