Kirk Herbstreit Takes On ‘Moronic’ Georgia Bulldog Fans On Twitter

Kirk Herbstreit learned an interesting lesson Tuesday on Twitter: while they may persistently call for their coach’s head more than any fan base in the country, Georgia Bulldog fans are fiercely protective of Mark Richt.

It all started innocently enough when Herbie opined about UGA’s recent crop of offseason arrests.

From there, the floodgates opened. Herbstreit received overly sensitive tweets like this one:

Watching his timeline fill with similar sentiments, Herbie clarified his statements (but not without taking a swipe at the fanatics.)

As you can imagine, that jab elicited some warm responses. For example:

Herbie worked a little more at driving home his point.

Some famous alumni picked up what the analyst was putting down.

So were some fans.

In the end, there really only appeared to be one universally happy party.
