Did you think SEC fans were the only ones unreasonably obsessed with their favorite teams? According to the Sandusky Register, Justin and Kim King made sure their baby daughter would never become a Michigan fan when they decided to name her Scarlet Gray – the two official Buckeyes colors.
“We were talking about names to begin with, and we just happened to come up with Scarlet,” Justin said. “I’ve been a fan since I was real young. I probably haven’t missed a game since I was in high school, and we always watch them.”
The Register reports that there is more meaning behind “Gray” than simply Ohio State. Justin’s middle name is Ray, and it was passed down to him from his father and grandfather. Giving his daughter the middle name Gray will help to keep the namesake alive.
Even at her young age, Scarlet is already developing into a lifelong Buckeyes fan, because let’s face it, she doesn’t have a choice.
“She is always up during games,” Justin said. “ She doesn’t watch it, but she is usually in her scarlet and gray colors.”
“She doesn’t really have a choice,” Justin said. “She’ll always be a Buckeye fan.”
Parents aren’t generally pleased when their kids get tattoos, but what if an 18-year old Scarlet Gray comes home with some OSU ink one day? They can’t really get upset, now can they?
