First, the Jets made headlines with a rather shocking, 30-27 overtime victory over the New England Patriots to move above .500 (4-3) on the year. After the final whistle sounded, another shocking video hit the internet: A thug in a Wayne Chrebet Jets jersey was caught punching a women square in the face.
As it turns out, that thug was Jets super-fan Kurt Paschke. Paschke is apparently so dedicated that, with the help of his mother, he has decked out an old bus into any supporter’s dream tailgating mobile.
Apparently, the bus is so widely recognized in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium that Jets owner Woody Johnson himself has paid a visit. A tipster sent the photo into Deadspin explaining that Paschke had uploaded it to his Facebook page.
This from the New York Daily News:
[A friend] said it’s such a familiar sight in the stadium parking lot that even Jets owner Woody Johnson has clambered inside to check out the custom Jets-embroidered seats and the Jets-themed curtains, which Paschke’s mom made for him.
Johnson’s outfit leads us to believe this photo was taken prior to the Jets-Steelers game. He probably wishes he had stayed in his luxury suite that day.
Paschke, at 17 years old, was sentenced to the legally-obligated minimum of three years in prison after he stabbed a fellow 17-year old Long Islander to death.
That fact has only surfaced now that the clip of Paschke punching a woman in the face has gone viral.
There was no way Johnson, or Rex Ryan, could have known this 39-year old’s past when posing for photos with him.
