Twitter Had A Nazi Fetish During USA-Germany Match

Judging from this Twitter breakdown of Thursday’s USA-Germany match, it’s like America pregamed by watching Inglourious Basterds. The word “Nazi” was tweeted/retweeted an average of 3.4 times per second between 11:35 a.m. and 2:03 p.m. ET. Things crescendoed when Thomas Müller scored a goal in the second half, with nearly 25 “Nazis” fired off per second. Talk about low hanging fruit.

All that Nazi talk will be tempered during the Belgium match, but stay tuned for waffle watch.
