Chicago Cubs Pay Tribute To Jackie Robinson West On Labor Day

Typically little league and high school teams model their uniforms after professional franchises, but on Monday the Chicago Cubs will be doing the exact opposite. The Lovable Losers will be wearing jerseys to pay tribute to Jackie Robinson West, a hometown baseball team that won the Little League World Series U.S. title this year.

Following is a look the threads the Cubbies will be rocking for their Labor Day game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

According to the Associated Press, the Jackie Robinson West team will also be in the building on Monday.

In a news release, the Cubs say the little leaguers will get to meet the Cubs during batting practice, throw a ceremonial first pitch and then during the 7th inning stretch, lead the crowd in the traditional singing of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

Last week, the Jackie Robinson West All-Stars were welcomed back to Chicago with a rally on the city’s South Side, a parade through the city and another rally at Millennium Park.

*UPDATE* The Cubs aren’t wearing the Jackie Robinson West jerseys during the actual game, only in warmups.
