The Detroit Pistons gave us a taste of their new alternate uniforms for the 2013-14 season on Sunday night. Instead of reading “Detroit” or “Pistons” across the front, the slightly darker blue threads feature “Motor City.”
The Pistons busted out their new branding in front of the home crowd against the Boston Celtics. The threads seem like a fantastic way to deepen the franchise’s connection to the city, and it seems to be working – in the win-loss column, that is. The Motor City crew knocked off the Celtics, 87-77.
