Texas Tech is bringing a strong uniform game into the 2014 season. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury informed the world at Big 12 Media Days on Monday that the Red Raiders will be wearing “Zach Thomas era” throwback jerseys against Arkansas on Sept. 13.
The fact that Kingsbury described them using Thomas, one of the most exciting players to ever where a pair of pads, is reason alone to get behind this decision.
“It’ll be a good look,” Kingbury stated. “They’ve got kind of a new spin on them, but it’s a traditional throwback look.”
According to RedRaiders.com, Tech will be opting for the throwback black jersey, as opposed to the scarlet tops.
Thomas played for Texas Tech from 1992-1995. He ended his career as one of the most decorated Red Raiders in history. For a list of his achievements while in Lubbock, click here.
And because I’ve been looking for a reason to share a Thomas highlight video, here you go.
