Italy’s Claudio Marchisio Draws Red Card Against Uruguay

For the first time since 2006, an Italy player has drawn a red card in the World Cup. On Tuesday it was Claudio Marchisio, who was ejected from the game after the below play against Uruguay. This comes after Mario Balotelli was pulled from the match due to card problems himself.

Italy will now play a man down against Uruguay, who desperately needs a win in order to advance in the World Cup. The Italians themselves need at least a draw if they hope to advance.
