Caitlin Brunell, daughter of former NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Mark Brunell, won the 2014 Miss Alabama competition on Saturday evening. A 22-year-old graduate from the University of Alabama, Brunell entered the pageant as Miss Leeds on the platform of her charity Caitlin’s Closet.
Per AL.com, she had the following to say after winning:
“I’m in complete shock,” she said shortly after her crowning. “I don’t know if I even have words to describe, but I have worked so hard for this moment. I could not be more proud to represent this state. This is an absolute honor and blessing. I’m just so thankful.”
After the victory her Super Bowl winning father tweeted out congratulations to the family’s newest champion.
