Super Bowl XLVIII point spread set for Denver vs. Seattle

Super Bowl XLVIII has been set, and so to has the early point spread for the game. The AFC Champion Denver Broncos are favored to beat the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks by 3-points.

This line has the potential to change throughout the week as factors such as Percy Harvin are weighed in. Seattle coach Pete Carroll told a radio station on Monday that he is optimistic Harvin will be able to suit up for the big game. The playmaking wide receiver sat out the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers after suffering a concussion in the divisional round against the New Orleans Saints.

The Seahawks will need all the firepower they can muster in order to keep up with the high-flying Broncos and superstar quarterback Peyton Manning. Denver finished with the No. 1-ranked offense in the league this season. The Broncos made relatively easy work of both the San Diego Chargers in the Divisional playoff round, and then the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.

Not to be outdone, Seattle’s defense also finished 2013-14 as the NFL’s top-ranked unit. Led by defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and boisterous cornerback Richard Sherman, the Seahawk’s D will look to disguise coverages and provide all kinds of problems for Manning and the Broncos.

As we near kickoff, several other lines will be released, including prop and in-game bets. For folks out there who want to try their hand at live action gambling, and wondering “where can I bet on live football“, be mindful of the current state of the game (i.e. score), weather, and patterns shown by the team’s during previous contests from the season.

Kickoff for the game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 2 at 6:25 p.m. ET from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It will be the first cold-weather Super Bowl in NFL history.
