The 2014 U.S. Open is set to tee off from Pinehurst No. 2 on Thursday, giving college fans another opportunity to brag about their favorite school/alma mater’s athletic program.
This year’s field is littered with golfers who suited up for NCAA programs. Georgia paces the tournament with a total of eight golfers, followed by Illinois, Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma State – each having five.
Florida State, Texas A&M, and Georgia Tech are all represented by four golfers apiece.
The following graphic breaks down how many golfers are fielded by each school having at least two men in the field. Below it is a chart which totals the percentage of college conferences represented by the 103 golfers with a college affiliation.
