Austin Peay’s Governors Stadium experienced a bit of unwanted remodeling on Monday. A giant sinkhole opened on the field near the end zone of the west side of the stadium.
According to WKRN, the sinkhole, which the university already knew existed, is approximately 40 feet deep by 40 feet wide. Luckily no injuries were sustained.
What might make the repairs seem less daunting is that the stadium is currently undergoing renovations. A new structure on the west side is being built, and a new field and track will be installed.
Following are a few photos of the sinkhole.
