Belmont Stakes 2014: Purse And Payouts

Saturday’s running of the 2014 Belmont Stakes brings not only the chance of Triple Crown history, but the highest purse in race history. This past December race organizers raised the Belmont’s purse from $1 million to $1.5 million, with payouts going to the top eight horses. It’s the first increase since 1998 and keeps the Belmont level with the Preakness Stakes – the Kentucky Derby tops the Triple Crown races at $2 million.

  • Third Place – $150,000
  • Fourth Place – $100,000
