It’s been a rough week for the state of Ohio when it comes to sports headlines. In just one night Johnny Manziel flipped a middle finger to the Washington Redskins during a primetime NFL game and Braxton Miller suffered a season-ending injury to his throwing shoulder – his second in the past eight months.
Following news that Ohio State would likely be turning to redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett, sports books quickly reevaluated their national title odds for the Buckeyes. Before Miller’s injury, Ohio State was considered one of the favorites to win at 12-1, but losing its star QB has dropped the team’s odds to 50-1 at some outlets.

The Big Ten. Urban Meyer. 50-1 odds. The College Football Playoff. Considering the last time Meyer encountered this situation, he rolled with a young guy by the name of Alex Smith, this might be the time to lay some money down on the Buckeyes.
